Ridiculed..

So, after a long bank holiday weekend at work which I am oh so glad to have behind me, and to have the monies coming my way, the time came to have a good ol' catch up with some close family friends; Penny, Roy, Philip and Sam.

After a few well deserved beers and ciders and about 4 tons of meat, conversation turned towards moustaches. It was made clear that expectations were not running so high for my tache growing frenzy in November. Several jokes were made about eyebrows being longer than my mo, and that there was no hope that I am going to get to twirl up the ends. THE CHEEK!

This has given me a new found determination to raise as much money as possible to ensure that i really do end up with a long, bushy and ridiculously impressive tache. Now I do need to keep this fairly realistic of course, I cannot honestly expect the following..

But it would be nice ;)

I think that I am to believe that this Moustache was part of the 2009 world moustache championships. Now, I really dont think I will be able to grow a world class mo within a month or two. BUT, I'll give it a jolly good go.

This leaves me to remind everyone that I am pushing on towards my target, and the sooner I do so, the sooner I can start cultivating! Click here

Coming up..

What up?

I have some really good posts lined up for this coming week. I have an excellent story about my Great Great Uncle, which will hopefully be accompanied with some photos. I also have some pics from my shift at work today. Whilst everyone was sporting rather tropical themed face paints in support of our Caribbean day I went for something a little different... I will try and grab the photos off the work camera so I can enlighten you all. After all, a picture is worth 1000 words (and with a little luck, a few laughs).

No important Mo related news to report at the moment. I am however a little closer to my target (thanks everyone) I'M NEARLY HALF WAY THERE!!! As mentioned previously though, as soon I reach that target, I won't shave until December 1st, so please continue to donate.

I will try and get around to posting the above posts by mid-week. Wednesday is most likely.

Improvements

Evening y'all. 

Just found this piccie saved on my desktop from a few weeks ago. I cannot remember where I found it.

An improvement, I think you will agree.

Really looking forward to growing my Mo. I am fully prepared with my Moustache comb, my moustachey poster, my moustache decals for my laptop etc.

I guess the only thing left to consider is moustache wax?! I shall leave this to much nearer the time, (probably until mid november) because making plans to wax my tache might be a bit ambitious! Here is to hoping. I must look into the pros and cons of moustache waxing! Some cool styles maybe?

The weather improved today and so did my mood. I dont think the mood was helped by purchasing a Quantum Physics book for uni.. Its gonna be a hard read!

Today is bad.

Days gone by.

After a long overdue sort-out of my computer (which is still in its early stages) I have sifted through many old, random and, quite frankly, ridiculous photos. The photo that is most appropriate is this one, for obvious reasons!

I do not remember taking this photo, but a tidy tache from 2010. (I know its 2010 because there is a gap where my John Mayer poster was, which I finally received from the US in November last year.)

Next, I enlighten you all with some very old photos of my brother and I. Aren't we a pretty duo!

I miss my room in halls, some golden memories!

Every now and then, one must be reminded that one is, in fact, a nerd.

On a more moustachey note, I have a bit of stubble again, and got told today that I could pass as a Greek or Italian man. Horaayy for looking European! I think?


Oh also, I found an excellent photo of my dad the other day. He is rocking quite the tache from his younger years. I am currently working on finding many old photos of my dad, and other family members. My Great Grandpa had a toothbrush moustache, and was casually rocking it until 98. What a legend :) Photos to follow...

Look prim&proper!

As mentioned in my last post, I made another mo related purchase recently. It arrived today :D

It is a Movember moustache comb. :D EPIC! I seriously cannot wait to comb through my lip bush with it.

Reach target...Grow tache.

So, its been a few days since I last posted on here. It has been a busy few days! I have been sorting things out with my student house and working a fair bit. I also caught up with a close friend yesterday evening which was lovely.

I have little to report besides an idea that I had yesterday. I am thinking that I will start growing my tache from the point where I reach my target. This will have a number of benefits...

• It will raise lots of money.
• I will look more ridiculous, for a longer amount of time.
• I will have a bigger tache.
• It will raise more awareness.

I also have news of a few Mo related purchases I have made, I will update you on these in the near future when they arrive.

I am easily addicted.

As some of you will know, I LOVE LEGO. I recently renewed my long lost love for Lego, and rebuilt my whole Star Wars Lego collection.

I seriously cannot get enough.

I have (many) Lego keyrings, a mini-figure ice cube tray, a shoulder bag, my Lego scarf and watch (both from my younger years) and have even made USB sticks into Lego bricks.

Addicted. So much so that I twisted my brothers arm into taking the following photo. I WILL have it printed for my wall next year at uni.

I also have an absolutely hugely ENORMOUS addiction to Nandos. Honestly, who doesn't enjoy half a succulent chicken covered in medium sauce with a large Peri-Peri chips? OH, and Perinaise. <3

'Nuff said.

Other things that I am addicted to include Leeds United, Yorkshire Tea, and sleep. Sleep is so so good. 

I fear that all this blogging about moustaches is leading to a minor addiction. As mentioned a few posts ago, I bought some Mo decals. Check it out!

I also purchased the "Keep Calm and Grow A Moustache" poster displayed in this post (actually, i bought a white one). But I have a feeling that I think I'm becoming addicted.

Still, whats not to love about a good ol' tache!

My one week Mo.

One week after my last 'hair on my face' related post, I have yet again failed to shave.

This week, however, I have just left a moustache... BEHOLD, my tache!

So, one weeks growth leaves me fairly optimistic about November. A bushy mo' can be expected!

I might re-shave to create an even more french version of my tache tomorrow. Maybe.
EDIT: I re-shaved, and looked stupid. so no pencil thin mo for me ever again! :)

Moustaches improve faces.

I found this series of images whilst stumbling. I think it justifies any moustache! :)

It seems that I have resisted shaving again, so we shall see how this all pans out. Photo to follow this week. I could spend hours posting lots of Mo related stuff, but will resist. I will just show you this picture.

Needless to say, EVERYONE loves wise and a moustachey Pikachu!

I am also quite miffed that I missed International Moustache Day. I found the following picture on stumble. Wish I could have posted about this on friday. I quite like the flyer, the different moustache curly brackets are excellent!

All things moustache.

As far as updates regarding my moustache go, there really isn't much I have to say. I would like to say a quick thank you to everyone who has donated so far! Nearly 1/3 of the way to my target. I am so pleased that I have raised over £300 already. It will make looking like a fool much easier!

As you can see, I have put my blog up on StumbleUpon. This should help spread the word about my face :) I have also been stumbling "moustache". There have been some absolutely cracking things on there. I even made an impulse purchase earlier this evening. I shall enlighten you to what I purchased later in the post.

In this post I wish to share some of the epic/ funny/ and manly Mo stuff that I have come across. Firstly, I WANT THIS CAT!!!!!

I also came across this image, the text next to it said that a guy who did Movember last year wanted to send this postcard out to all people who sponsored him, but it didn't work out. A good idea, which I would love to do, but the postcard was being sold at about £2 if I remember correctly, which would make it too expensive for me to do as well. A shame because I think it is a lovely idea.

I might have to buy myself one of these postcards anyway. EDIT: the postcard can be bought here. But I mustn't go too crazy, there are many many Mo related products that I could easily buy. For example the moustache bumper sticker seen in the following link is quite excellent! Please buy me one!

Right then. I saw the following product and just HAD to buy them. :)

It is a set of 6 moustache decals, which will look absolutely spiffing on my Mac! It wil also give me motivation to clean this filthy machine. It is currently covered in grubby fingerprints!

The Goatee!!

Good morning everybody.
Hope everyone is well on this fine summer morning.

I am writing this post with a smooootthhh face! I shaved this morning and it feels great! Below is a photo of my face before it was set free from the mediocre, half-arsed goatee that had invaded.

I must point out that the moustache was shaved during the goatee growing, so the tache is about 5/6 days younger. BRING ON NOVEMBER!

Beards aside, I went to Nandos (where else?!) last night with a group of my good friends. I could spend a few paragraphs describing the excellence of Nandos and how much I enjoyed last nights meal, however I shall try and keep this post fairly closely related to my face. 

We were discussing how I could style my beard. Suggestions included a thin goatee like Mel Gibson shown on the right. This discussion continued for quite a while, and I did actually style mine like this (for all of about 20 seconds) but my brother managed to snap a quick pic. I might publish this at some point. Other suggestions included shaving designs into my sideburns and a handlebar moustache. 

It was a highly amusing conversation, but it quickly progressed on where we should gather to drink a few beers in the evening. Drinking fruit ciders and reminiscing about school etc was great fun. Hopefully not the last time that happens before Alex jets off to Hong Kong for 6 months!

But back to my beard. I said that it feels feel great being clean shaven once more, and here is a photo of said shaven face, purely for the purpose of comparison.

This leaves me to give a conclusion to my final decision, mentioned a few posts ago. I think I shall shave sometime in late October. I will add a countdown timer to my blog in the coming days.

Edit: the countdown is now installed. Also, I have added an email subscription thingy. Please subscribe etc etc.

For now, this is all, I have to shoot off to work. I may add more later on.

Finally photos...

...and another decision made?

Ill start with the photos, I managed to get my brother to take some photos this afternoon. I think I ended up holding him up from going out, (Sorry George). Anyway, here they are...

We had such uncontrollable giggles :')

I must mention how positive she has been so far. I am ever so proud of her for fighting so hard. :)

On the decisions side of things, I think that I will grow everything to start with, at least for a few weeks, then I will shave, just leaving my moustache. :) I really can't imagine having a reaaalllyyyyy hairy upper lip!

I have also set a shave date for this current attempt at a goatee. Wednesday. Just so y'all know.

I shall continue to ponder when my last shave will be. Once decided, maybe a countdown clock on my blog? We shall see.
