Similarities

It' been a good day. Donations have been pouring in today, people have generously given £140 just today! It feels excellent to have reached my target. I cannot believe that my initial target was £300. I thought I was being really optimistic!

Anyway, people have been suggesting who I look like with a moustache over the past few months. There have been claims that I look French, Spanish and even Italian. I have been likened to have a Freddie Mercury moustache, to look like Johnny Depp when my tache was combined with eyeliner, and some delightful chap yelled Hitler at me in Leeds.

But now, it gets better. My Godfather has sent me this!

I chuckled when I saw this earlier today.

I am looking to try and do some different styles with my tache to share with you later this week. Until then,

Keep donating!

Target Reached!

SUCCESS! I have reached my target! I am literally over the moon. You guys have helped me raise £1000 for Breast Cancer Care, which is a very worthy cause. I would like to extend a personal thank you to all of you who have donated. I have been taken a little by surprise at the support that you have all given to myself and my family over this past (nearly whole) year.

I am currently in University, so am taking a small break to share my face of happiness with you all.

WOOHOOOOOO!!!
So there we are, £1000 raised, bushy tache grown & humiliation achieved!

WAIT!!! More donations... £1020 now. OH MY GOD! :D

Let's smash this target...

Speak to you all soon.

Please help

I have raised LOADS. As I write this I have raised £875! I am so pleased with the amount that I have raised

BUT

I know that we can raise more. I recently enabled the donate by text feature that JustGiving offers (click here for anyone who is interested about the finer details). To donate, text the following

HSMO99 £2

to 70070.

You can, of course, change the amount as you wish. Donations can also be made in the regular way by clicking "Please donate here" link at the top of the page.

Every donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards helping to fight Breast Cancer and ultimately towards finding a cure. So please, if you haven't already, give what you can and help support me in raising as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

Thanks in advance, more moustache updates soon.

Picture No. 3

With 8 days of Movember remaining, I am seeing a fair number of blokes sporting moustaches around the university campus. It is a shame that many people are mistaking my moustache to be part of Movember, but it hasn't been too much hassle to explain that I'm raising for Breast Cancer instead.

Maybe next year I will grow a mo as part of Movember, I would love to be part of the vast number of guys who are growing mos for our bros.

Anyway, as I mentioned in my last post, I was waiting on the third photo from my visit to see my brother, George, in Leeds at the weekend. I am really please at how this one has turned out. Check it out...

Vintage!
I was discussing George's course structure and assignments with him and I think he wants to do some more photos at Christmas. He can use them as progress and to develop his portrait techniques.

I have also been thinking about how to combine all my daily photos into a time-lapse video and how to put a cool ending on it. When I have a finalised plan, I will enlighten you all.

I am currently writing this in a 4th year lecture which I am doing a year early, but we are only running through some answers to some work we submitted this morning, it all seems OK. The lecturer would say

"It's trivial".

It really is.

Until next time.

Photos from Leeds

As I wrote yesterday, I visited my Bro with no Mo up in t' north in Leeds this weekend. He took a few photos when we were slowly walking to the train station and here they are. Well 2 out of three of them. I am hoping he can edit the third for me, I have a fairly good idea of what I would like it to look like. As soon as I have a copy, I shall share it with you.

Anyway, here are the first two.

How about that for a Handlebar?
I a really pleased at how this turned out, maybe I should send it to the Handlebar Club or a moustache competition? One of the youngest with a handlebar?

I also found this poster, which is a weekly event at one of the more student esque bars. Upsettingly, it apparently turns out to be a bit of a let down as far as nights out go. Unfortunately I am unlikely to be in Leeds when this night is on.

I have now raised £831 for Breast Cancer. 83% of my target! Very pleased! Keep supporting such a great cause!

Good night.

Leeds, Rabbits & Hitler

Just a quick update, pictures will follow in the next post.

I spent last night in Leeds visiting my Brother at uni. We had a great time catching up and had a decent night spent with a couple of drinks at a University halls & a small bar in the town centre.

I went out with my moustache styled as in this post, and the reaction was insane! The amount of people who asked me if said tache was real was very surprising. A very kind random gentleman randomly donated some money, which I have put on my fundraising page as a text donation. The random donations catch me totally by surprised and I am left a little like a rabbit in headlights. I just do not know what to say! It is however, of course, greatly appreciated. :)

Another thing that surprised me was the delightful young chap who shouted "HITLER" at me outside the station in Leeds. Again, left speechless like a rabbit in headlights. He must have an absolutely sterling education... I think it is safe to say that everyone reading my blog will recognise that my moustache does not resemble Hitler's.

On the way back to the train station we stopped in a park local to my brothers halls and took some piccies. I will put them up here as soon as my dear brother has worked his magic editing them. I am hoping that this will be tomorrow.

Speak to y'all soon.

My Proper Handlebar Moustache

As mentioned in my last post, I recently ordered some moustache wax. I promised photos as soon as it came and for those of you lucky enough to see the first picture on my facebook this morning, I hope you were pleasantly impressed.

For the rest of you here is a photo that I took this afternoon.

I am going to see my brother in Leeds this weekend, so I will get him to take a photo and have it edited properly, seeing as he is a photography student. (His blog is linked at the top)

Until early next week,

Good day,

Henry

Style is Everything...

We live in a time where fashion and style are incredibly important. It recently came to my attention that my untamed moustache is going to go wild if precautionary measures are not taken.

To counter a moustache style disaster I ordered some of Capt. Fawcett's Moustache Wax, pictured below.

The wax I ordered is lightly scented with sandalwood
With any luck I will look as stylish and suave as this cat dog. The internet loves animals, but in my opinion this gentleman kitty doggy is one of the best online animals out there.

Gentleman kitty doggy approves...
I will be very quick to show you my styled moustache when it arrives this week.

Now for a joke? Bad jokes are sometimes the best. I am not sure in this case...

An angry mob is walking through the streets when someone yells, "Hey! Lets hang that guy with a moustache!"

Someone else yells, "Nah, lets use a rope!"

I have to admit, I did laugh when I heard that last night. (Thanks Sam.)

Anyway, I will post again when my wax comes!

Good day,

Henry

Edit: It has kindly been bought to my attention that this is in fact a dog, not a cat. Apologies for the falseness of my post, the website that I found it said that it was a cat. Thank you to the person who corrected me.

Hello Zombies & Eyeliner

Let me start with an apology, I haven't blogged this week due to various Physics assignments and a couple of house viewings. Sorry about that!

In this post I aim to enlighten you all with some more up to date photos of how my moustache is coming along. It has now been a few weeks since halloween, but I will start the update with a few pictures from our Zombie night out.

We spent most of two hours sorting out our makeup, shirts and most importantly creating our wounds. We used liquid latex and tissue paper to build up layers which, when painted look like real injuries.

A bit too much eye makeup?
(See below for more..)
Many people that night also dressed as zombies, which made for an interesting evening, but when you dress as a zombie, you need a little more than a red marker pen to do your wounds. The extra effort goes a long way doesn't it?
How real does that look?!
So I entered November looking like a crazed moustache wearing zombie. A few days later and I was looking ridiculous once again. Before we went to the Students Union for the "Red Leicester" club night I was promised a donation to my Justgiving page if I wore eyeliner for the night.

I figured if I have been growing a mo for upwards of two months then how bad could it be? What I completely forgot to consider was the fact that a 20 year old student with a fairly substantial moustache attracts a fair bit of attention. As I mentioned a few posts back, many people approach me on nights out with compliments etc. Many even ask if it is real.

Anyway, the eyeliner was brought up by many many people that night, never again do I want random people coming over to me with "are you wearing eyeliner?". In most cases I managed to answer the question with one swift hand gesture...

"FOR CHARITY"

was scribbled on my hand. Here is one of the rather embarrassing photos from that night.

They LOVED it.
This pretty much brings me up to date with the interesting pictures that i have to share, except this, Day 65

Todays (no. 65) tache.
As always, I would like to extent my gratitude to all of those who have donated. The support really means a lot, I have now raised £724! OVER SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS! That's over twice my original £300 target.

Now, although this is an excellent amount so far, I must stress that this is 'so far'. I want to continue to raise money and absolutely smash my target. If that means wearing more eyeliner or doing other embarrassing things (within reason of course) in return for donations to Breast Cancer Care then so be it! If you have any ideas comment below with your idea and how much you will sponsor me to do said thing and I will strongly consider it!

Until next time, adios, and good luck to all of the gentlemen participating in Movember, some of the Mos that i have seen so far look fairly impressive!

Henry

It begins.

So, November has started and a huge number of guys will have already shaved for the last time in a month. Despite the fact that I am not officially partaking in movember (I am raising money for Breast Cancer, not for the Movember Foundation) I would like to wish everyone very good luck with their Moustaches.

I have been growing for nearly 2 months now and everything is going well. I fully expect to be able to achieve the following in the very near future.
I have been meaning to do a post in this past week, but simply have not had the time. There are some photos and updates that need to be shared.

Bye for now.
